Wingsuit flying and skydiving are his passions.
Marco Waltenspiel, a member of the Red Bull Skydive Team, regularly pushes the limits of what’s possible with his passion. As part of the DREIKANT PASSIONTOUR, the team met up with friends and the athlete at an altitude of 2,740 metres on the Dachstein in early March 2022. With perfect weather, the stop at the Seethalter Hütte turned into an exciting event:
DREIKANT had the 8.5-metre-long table – carved from a single tree trunk – hoisted up by helicopter; the hut owner served a traditional board snack, and friends and acquaintances of the team provided the festive atmosphere.
The DREIKANT team positioned and secured the 600-kg table at the Dachsteinwarte, taking the natural surroundings into account, to firmly anchor the celebrating group. Skydiver Marco Waltenspiel enjoyed the festivities at the table high above the ground until conditions were perfect for him to make his exit in his own unique way. Jumping directly from the DREIKANT table, the athlete completed his first—as he calls it—“Table BASE”: a jump into the depths, followed by a flight through the air past the rocky ridges of the Dachstein Glacier. While Marco completed his flight and landed safely back on the ground, the celebrating guests continued to enjoy the unusual setting and the breathtaking view from the table for some time.
Marco’s passion is flying through the air in a wingsuit and capturing exciting images; ours is assembling tables and arranging them perfectly. On this day, we came together to celebrate our passions and create unforgettable moments that will last forever.
