DREIKANT PASSIONTOUR with DTM driver Philipp Eng at this year’s season opener at Spielberg in September 2022. Philipp Eng is part of the Schubert team, and racing has always been a big part of his life. Racing is his passion. His goal is to become the best. This year, he competed in the DTM at the Spielberg Red Bull Ring in a BMW M4GT3. DREIKANT had the 8.5-metre-long table – carved from a single tree trunk – hoisted into place by helicopter; the hut owner served a traditional snack platter, and friends and acquaintances of the team set the festive mood.
We visited Eng before his race weekend and had an unforgettable time filled with plenty of action and exciting behind-the-scenes glimpses into the driver’s pit. A one-of-a-kind table, 2.20 metres long and up to 1.30 metres wide, carved from a sweet chestnut tree trunk, was set up at the racetrack, and we were invited to take a seat right in the middle of the spectacle. Philipp Eng drifted impressively around the one-of-a-kind Dreikant table, creating a new, extraordinary PASSIONTOUR moment. Afterwards, we were given exclusive access to the driver’s pit and became part of the crucial team meeting, which this time took place at the Dreikant table.
Of course, we didn’t want to miss the chance to experience the race live, and Philipp managed to finish in a fantastic 5th place. Racing is his passion; building bespoke tables and showcasing them is ours. At the Spielberg Red Bull Ring, we combined our passions and created unforgettable moments that will last a lifetime.
